Dear Martha,
Just got your beautiful Tregaron pictures. They downloaded just fine and we
are putting them in an "Album" on the computer. Many, many thanks.
George and I visited Tregaron several years ago. I think the farm there
where the two rivers meet is not Derlwyn. I was told, by the way, that the
name of the farm means Oak Hedge.
According to the material in the Shelby newsletter there were two Shelby
farms near Tregaron. According to the material I had, Derwlyn is on the
other side of town on a ridge looking down toward the old bridge. It is
still called by the name Derwlyn. We were able to visit this farm, but here
too, the old house has been torn down. I did not get so close to the farm
in
your pictures, and love seeing the location. Also the church was locked when
we were there, so this is our first glimpse inside.
I am glad you had such a nice trip to beautiful, peaceful Wales.
