JUDY,=20
I noticed your exchanged with Mary Lou Smith concerning validation of =
certain Shelbys with the DAR. Not being much of a solcial climber I have =
little knowledge of the DAR or their requirements for a proper =
"pedigree" but I can offer the following:
My aunt Bess Shelby Cage [sister of Thomas Virgil Shelby and daughter of =
William Shelby both of Erath County Texas] was a member of good standing =
in the DAR prior to her death in approx.1964. Our family is traced back =
through Evan Shelby to Phillip Selby of Wales. I assume that Aunt Bess =
was accepted based on her linage to one of the Revolutionary heros of =
King's Mountain.
Regards Jerold Shelby, Livingston Texas
